About Kite
Kite is a Layer 1 blockchain built for autonomous AI agents to transact with each other. Its premise is that as software agents begin making purchases, paying for services, and coordinating with other agents, the payment infrastructure they need does not yet exist in a form that is both safe and unsupervised.
The specific problem is authority. A human can be trusted to approve a payment, but an autonomous agent acting continuously needs cryptographic limits on what it can spend, on whose behalf, and under what conditions, enforced by the system rather than by the agent's own judgment. Kite's design centers on providing those constraints natively.
x402 compatibility
The network supports x402, a standard that revives the long-unused HTTP 402 Payment Required status code to let machines pay for API and web resources programmatically. Under that model an agent requesting a paid resource receives a payment challenge, settles it, and retries, all without human involvement. Native compatibility means agents on Kite can interact with any service implementing the standard.
The chain is EVM compatible and connected to BNB Chain, Avalanche, and Ethereum contexts, and it appeared in Binance's Alpha Spotlight program.
Supply
KITE has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, all issued as total supply, with roughly 2.39 billion currently circulating. That leaves the large majority still to enter the market, so unlock schedules are a significant factor.
The agent payments category is new and largely unproven. The measure that matters is whether agents actually transact on the network at volume, which is observable on chain and distinguishes working infrastructure from a well-articulated thesis.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kite?
Kite is a Layer 1 blockchain designed for autonomous AI agents to transact with cryptographic safety constraints. It supports x402, a standard for machine-to-machine payments over HTTP.
How does Kite work?
The network provides native controls over what an agent can spend, on whose behalf, and under what conditions, enforced by the protocol rather than by the agent itself. Its x402 compatibility lets agents pay for API and web resources programmatically without human involvement.
What is KITE's maximum supply?
KITE has a maximum supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens, all issued as total supply, with roughly 2.39 billion currently circulating.
What is x402?
x402 is a standard that uses the HTTP 402 Payment Required status code to let machines pay for resources programmatically. An agent requesting a paid resource receives a payment challenge, settles it, and retries automatically.
