About Conflux
Conflux is a permissionless Layer 1 blockchain that originated in China and holds an unusual position: it is described as the only regulatory compliant public blockchain operating there. That status has given it access to partnerships with government entities and major brands in a market where most public blockchains cannot operate openly.
The network's original technical contribution was a tree-graph consensus structure, which allows blocks to be produced concurrently and then ordered, rather than discarding competing blocks as orphans. This is conceptually similar to other directed acyclic graph approaches and was intended to raise throughput without weakening proof-of-work security.
Hybrid consensus
Conflux later migrated to a hybrid model combining proof of work with proof of stake. Proof of work continues to produce blocks while a proof-of-stake layer provides finality, which protects against the deep reorganizations that a pure proof-of-work chain of moderate hashrate is vulnerable to. The stated result is low fees, minimal congestion, and stronger finality guarantees than either mechanism alone would provide.
Ecosystem position
The network's regional positioning is its main differentiator. Conflux has worked on blockchain and metaverse initiatives with Chinese municipal governments and has collaborated with global brands seeking a compliant route into that market. That is a narrower but more defensible niche than competing directly with general-purpose Layer 1 chains on throughput.
CFX has no listed maximum supply. Total supply currently sits at roughly 5.23 billion tokens with essentially all of it circulating. Issuance continues through mining and staking rewards under the network's parameters.
CFX is used to pay transaction fees, for staking within the proof-of-stake layer, and in governance over protocol parameters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Conflux?
Conflux is a permissionless Layer 1 blockchain that originated in China and is described as the only regulatory compliant public blockchain operating there. It uses a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake consensus.
How does Conflux work?
The network uses a tree-graph structure that allows blocks to be produced concurrently and then ordered rather than discarded as orphans. Proof of work produces blocks while a proof-of-stake layer provides finality, protecting against deep chain reorganizations.
What is CFX's maximum supply?
CFX has no listed maximum supply. Total supply is currently around 5.23 billion tokens, essentially all circulating, with issuance continuing through mining and staking rewards.
What makes Conflux's position unusual?
Its regulatory standing in China has allowed partnerships with municipal governments and global brands seeking a compliant route into that market, which is a narrower niche than competing on throughput alone.
