Fartcoin is a Solana meme token that emerged from the Terminal of Truths project, an AI agent experiment conducted by Andy Ayrey using Anthropic's Claude models. The agent, running in an open-ended conversational environment, repeatedly referenced the concept, and a community subsequently launched a token around it through Pump.fun in late 2024.

What it is

The token has no product, protocol, or revenue model. Its significance is cultural: it became one of the most cited examples of the AI meme category, where token creation is driven or inspired by autonomous agents rather than by human marketing teams. The circumstances of its origin, an AI system generating a concept that humans then financialised, made it a frequently referenced case in discussions about agents and markets.

FARTCOIN is an SPL token on Solana with a maximum supply of 1 billion, essentially all of which is issued and in circulation. It has no consensus mechanism of its own and settles on Solana. Because it launched through Pump.fun, its initial distribution followed that platform's bonding curve model rather than a team allocation and vesting schedule.

Fartcoin is frequently used as shorthand for the AI meme wave of late 2024 and 2025. Like all meme tokens, its value comes entirely from attention. It has no treasury, no fees, and no assets, and its price movement reflects shifts in community interest and broader market conditions rather than any measurable underlying activity. Its origin also made it one of the first widely traded assets where the concept came from a machine rather than a marketing team, which is why it is frequently cited in discussions about what happens when autonomous systems influence markets.
