About HTX DAO
HTX is the governance token of HTX DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization built around the HTX cryptocurrency exchange, formerly known as Huobi. Huobi was one of the earliest major crypto exchanges, founded in 2013, and rebranded to HTX in 2023. The HTX token launched alongside the DAO structure to give the exchange's community a formal voice in its governance.
How it works
HTX is a token issued on existing blockchains — it circulates on Ethereum, Tron, and BNB Chain — rather than a coin securing its own network, so it has no consensus mechanism of its own. Its function is governance: HTX holders possess the right to vote on proposals put to the DAO and can freely delegate and exercise their voting rights in the decision-making process. In this way the token is intended to shift decisions about the platform's direction from a purely corporate structure toward collective token-holder autonomy.
Supply
HTX is notable for its extremely large token denomination. The maximum supply is just under one quadrillion tokens (999.99 trillion), with roughly 898 trillion in circulation. Each individual token is therefore worth a very small fraction of a US dollar; this is a design choice about unit size, similar to other high-supply tokens, and says nothing by itself about the asset's overall market value.
Role in the ecosystem
As a centralized-exchange (CEX) token, HTX belongs to the same broad family as BNB, OKB, and LEO: assets whose relevance is tied to the platform that stands behind them. HTX DAO frames the token as the coordination layer for the HTX exchange community, with governance participation as its core utility. The exchange itself is closely associated with the Tron ecosystem, and the token's fortunes are linked to the activity and standing of the HTX platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is HTX DAO?
HTX is the governance token of HTX DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization built around the HTX exchange, formerly known as Huobi. The token gives holders voting rights over proposals concerning the platform's direction.
How does HTX DAO work?
HTX is a token issued on Ethereum, Tron, and BNB Chain rather than a blockchain with its own consensus mechanism. Holders vote on DAO proposals and can freely delegate their voting rights in the decision-making process.
What is HTX's maximum supply?
HTX has a maximum supply of just under one quadrillion tokens (999.99 trillion), with roughly 898 trillion in circulation. The very large supply means each token represents a tiny unit of value by design.
Where can I buy HTX?
HTX is traded primarily on the HTX exchange and on some other venues. You can compare supported platforms on our [exchanges page](/exchanges).
Is HTX the same as Huobi Token (HT)?
They are distinct tokens. Huobi Token (HT) was the exchange's earlier platform token; after the exchange rebranded to HTX in 2023, the HTX token was launched as the governance asset of HTX DAO.
