About Falcon Finance
Falcon Finance is a DeFi protocol built around what it calls universal collateralization infrastructure. Its core product is USDf, an overcollateralized synthetic dollar that users can mint by depositing eligible assets, and FF is the protocol's native token.
How Falcon Finance works
Users deposit collateral into the protocol and receive USDf in return. The range of accepted collateral is broader than in many lending markets and includes liquid digital tokens as well as tokenized real-world assets. Because USDf is overcollateralized, the value of deposits exceeds the value of the synthetic dollars issued against them, providing a buffer against price movement in the collateral. The design lets holders obtain stable on-chain liquidity without selling the assets they have deposited, which is the same basic proposition as collateral-backed stablecoins more generally.
FF has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, all issued as total supply, with roughly 2.97 billion in circulation. The protocol is deployed across the BNB Chain and Ethereum ecosystems. The token was distributed in part through Binance HODLer Airdrops and the project has been featured in Binance Alpha Spotlight and the Buidlpad launchpad.
Role in the ecosystem
Falcon Finance sits in the synthetic dollar and collateralized stablecoin segment of DeFi, alongside protocols that issue dollar-denominated tokens against crypto collateral. Its distinguishing emphasis is the breadth of collateral it accepts, including tokenized real-world assets, which connects it to the wider trend of bringing off-chain instruments on chain as usable collateral. The related USDF ticker refers to the synthetic dollar itself, while FF is the governance and ecosystem token.
