About Pyth Network
Pyth Network is a decentralized oracle that delivers real-time financial market data to smart contracts across many blockchains. Its data covers crypto assets, equities, foreign exchange, and commodities, and it is designed for applications where price accuracy and latency matter, such as derivatives and lending protocols.
What distinguishes Pyth from other oracle designs is where the data comes from. Rather than relying on independent node operators who scrape public APIs, Pyth sources prices directly from the firms that produce them: trading firms, market makers, and exchanges that see order flow first hand. Those publishers submit their own prices along with a confidence interval, and the network aggregates the submissions into a single feed.
Pull-based updates
Pyth uses a pull model. Instead of continuously pushing price updates on chain regardless of whether anyone needs them, prices are published to a dedicated chain and applications request an update on chain at the moment they need it, paying for that update. This keeps costs proportional to actual usage and allows the network to support a very large number of feeds across many chains at once.
The confidence interval is also unusual. Publishers report not just a price but how certain they are of it, which lets a protocol widen its safety margins during periods when the market is dislocated rather than treating every price as equally reliable.
Supply and governance
PYTH has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, all issued as total supply, with roughly 7.87 billion circulating. The token is used for governance over the network, including decisions on fee parameters, publisher rewards, and which feeds are supported. Pyth originated in the Solana ecosystem and has since expanded to support a wide range of networks.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pyth Network?
Pyth Network is a decentralized oracle that delivers real-time market data for crypto, equities, foreign exchange, and commodities to smart contracts across many blockchains. Its prices come directly from trading firms, market makers, and exchanges.
How does Pyth Network work?
Publishers submit prices along with a confidence interval, and the network aggregates them into a single feed. Applications pull price updates on chain at the moment they need them rather than the network pushing continuous updates, which keeps costs proportional to usage.
What is PYTH's maximum supply?
PYTH has a maximum supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens, all issued as total supply, with roughly 7.87 billion currently circulating.
What is a confidence interval in Pyth's data?
Publishers report not only a price but how certain they are of it. Protocols can use that interval to widen safety margins when markets are dislocated instead of treating every price as equally reliable.
Where can I buy Pyth Network?
