About USD1
USD1 is a US dollar stablecoin issued by World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture affiliated with the family of US President Donald Trump. Each token is intended to maintain a value of one US dollar, giving traders and applications a dollar-denominated unit that can move on public blockchains around the clock.
USD1 launched in 2025 and grew quickly to a multi-billion-dollar circulating supply. It is a fiat-backed stablecoin: the issuer holds reserves in dollar-denominated assets such as cash deposits and short-term US Treasuries, and tokens are created when dollars are deposited and redeemed when tokens are returned. As with any centrally issued stablecoin, holders rely on the issuer's reserve management and redemption process rather than on an on-chain collateral mechanism.
Role in the ecosystem
USD1 is deployed across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Tron, and Aptos, among others. Like other dollar stablecoins, its main uses are as a trading pair on exchanges, a settlement asset for transfers, and a stable unit within decentralized finance applications.
The token does not have a fixed maximum supply. Instead, the amount in circulation expands and contracts with issuance and redemption: new tokens are minted against incoming reserves and burned when holders redeem for dollars. USD1's rapid rise made it one of the larger USD stablecoins by circulating supply, though it remains smaller than the long-established leaders Tether (USDT) and USDC. Its association with a sitting US president's family has also made it one of the more politically discussed assets in the stablecoin sector.
